Investment account report

Investment account report makes declaring your income easier

  • An investment account is an excellent choice, as this way you can defer income tax liability and re-invest the profit earned from the investments without paying income tax.
  • The investment account report helps you to send your annual information to the Estonian Tax and Customs Board.

More information can be found on the website of the Estonian Tax and Customs Board. If you need help filling in the report, call our number 613 1606 (on weekdays from 9.00–17.00) or contact the Estonian Tax and Customs Board by calling directly 880 0811.

By using an investment account you can defer income tax liability. To this end, you need to declare your investments annually and provide the Estonian Tax and Customs Board with an overview. You have to do this even if you have not made any transactions during the year.

You can complete the report right here, via the Internet Bank. Both purchase and sale transactions of securities, investment account transfers, and other asset-related movements have to be reflected. The report should then be forwarded to the Estonian Tax and Customs Board. You can do this conveniently on this page.

If you are declaring your other income on the website of the Estonian Tax and Customs Board, please also take a look at clause 6.5 where you need to confirm that you have an investment account and verify that your report has been included in the declaration. Please also note that no transactions are automatically included in clause 6.1 and 8.2 – those fields must be empty when using an investment account. If you have any trouble completing your declaration, please contact the Estonian Tax and Customs Board.

  1. Start completing the investment account report.
  2. Name the report and specify the year to which the report relates.
  3. Find the account that is linked to your securities account (which is your investment account) among your current accounts. Then specify the period for which you want to report transactions. You can set the period from 1 January to 31 December of the previous calendar year. If you have several investment accounts, each account must be included separately in one report.
  4. Next, you will see all the transactions you have made during the selected period. We have divided them into three categories: a contribution, payout, and financial asset transaction. Please review these transactions and modify them, if necessary. If you have any questions, the ‘?’ buttons on the first row of the table will help. However, if you do not find an answer there, please contact the Estonian Tax and Customs Board by calling +372 880 0811.
  5. Finally, review the report. If you have to pay income tax from your investments, you will see the corresponding amount. Then click ‘Back to Report List’ and do not forget to send the report to the Estonian Tax and Customs Board.
