Insurance covers everything
With Swedbank you can insure your house or apartment as well as your summer house or country home. No one can foresee every
single incident that could cause damage to your home or property, which is why we haven’t put together an exhaustive
catalogue of the events we insure – instead, we’ve compiled a list of the events our insurance doesn’t cover. In rest of the cases your home will be protected by home insurance.
For example, Swedbank home insurance will cover damages in case of following:
Home with fire damage will be restored
Hail and wind
Damage will be covered regardless of storm strenght
Thunder and power surges
We cover damages caused by thunder or power surges.
Plumbing and flood
Theft and robbery
Stolen items are covered at new item purchase value.
All accidents that damage home or items within it.
Building’s insurable value is the cost of restoring the building to previous state - restoration value. Home contents insurable value is the cost of repurchasing the items as brand new. If same items are no longer sold, equal functionality items are considered.
Liability insurance has you covered if you or someone in your family causes harm or damage to a third party. This cover is
also valid outside of your home anywhere in Estonia.
By insuring your home, all of the structures that form part of it are covered, as are the essential parts
of the building (including built-in lighting and sanitary systems), its technical systems (including heating pumps and
communications lines), its interior finish (including kitchen furniture, but excluding kitchen appliances) and built-in
furniture. The interior finish of a terraced house and the essential parts of the building located within the terraced house
are insured up to the interior finish of the neighbouring house.
Insurance of a building or part of a building also covers facilities. Facilities are separate structures that are not buildings. They must be located on the same plot of land as the building or part of a building and permanently attached to the ground, such as fences, outdoor lighting fixtures, flagpoles, wells, kennels, pools, playgrounds (incl. playhouses), shelters and greenhouses of up to 20 m².
By insuring your apartment, the living space is covered, as are the essential parts of the apartment (including built-in
lighting and sanitary systems), its technical systems, its interior finish (including kitchen furniture, but excluding
kitchen appliances) and built-in furniture and any storage room that belongs to the apartment but is located outside of the
By insuring your home contents, all of the property belonging to or at the disposal of the owner of the home or apartment
or the individual(s) living there on a permanent basis is covered, both within and beyond the confines of the insured
When taking out home contents insurance you get to choose the extent of the cover. And we don’t ask you for a detailed list
of the items you want to insure.
However, you can draw up a list of unique or valuable items and collections to insure separately.
Uninstalled building materials (e.g. bricks, pipes, paints, parquet and wires), uninstalled equipment (e.g. sanitary installations, air conditioners and heating systems) and tools are covered to the extent of up to 25% of the sum insured. Such items are covered if the doors of the building are properly locked and all windows are closed.
Property you keep in a storage room located outside of an apartment or in an outbuilding is insured to up to 25% of the insurance amount if the doors of the storage room, outbuilding or sauna are kept locked as required and the windows are closed. Home contents within Estonia but beyond the confines of the insurance location are covered to up to 5% of the insurance amount. Cash kept in the insurance location is covered to a value of up to €500.
