Order your bankcard conveniently and safely home by mail.
Now you can have the PIN for your new bank card sent to you in the Internet bank. The PIN is displayed when you activate your card.
Please note: You cannot have the PIN for an additional card sent to you in the Internet bank.

Convenient – things get done without visiting a bank branch

  • It is possible to receive both new as well as automatically renewed debit and credit cards by mail. You can order a new card conveniently via the Internet bank.
  • If your bank card is about to expire and you want to receive the new card by mail, login to the Internet bank and search the expiring cards link from the start page. By clicking the link you will be displayed all the bank cards that are about to expire soon. By clicking on the card name you can change the delivery method of the expiring bank card. The delivery method of your debit card and the postal address for the delivery can be changed 60 days and those of a credit card 50 days before the expiry of the old card.

Upon choosing “by post” as the delivery method, make sure that the address specified in your contact details is correct, as otherwise you might not receive the card. The bank card will be sent to your contact address as a non-registered letter and it is free of charge for you within Estonia. If you wish your card to be delivered to a foreign country, send us the respective information with a bank message. A fee is charged for sending a card abroad.

Secure – a bank card can be used only after activation

After receiving the card you must activate it in the Internet bank, otherwise you cannot use it. By sending only unactivated cards by mail, we make sure that your personal data as well as the money on your account are not jeopardised in the event the delivery gets lost or falls into wrong hands.

The renewed card and replacement card will initially have the same PIN as the last card, for a new card we will send the PIN separately. After you have activated your card in the Internet bank it is recommended to change the PIN at an ATM.

Fast – it is possible receive the card within five business days

Did you know that if you order a new bank card to be sent to you by post and the accompanying PIN code to be displayed in the Internet bank you will receive the card within five business days? PIN codes in the Internet bank are displayed when you activate your card. At the moment it is not possible to order PIN of a new credit card to be displayed in the Internet bank.

  • Which bank cards are sent by mail?

    We can send all credit and debit cards by post.

    NB! To customers under 18-years old are Youth Cards issued only in branches.

  • Where and how is it possible to change the delivery method of the expiring bank card?

    You are able to choose whether you wish to receive your new bank card from a Swedbank branch or by post; you can do this in the Internet bank under the card agreement or at your nearest Swedbank branch. Any changes can be made prior to 60 days before expiry of the card.

  • Which post address will the card be sent to?

    If you have chosen delivery by post, you must also confirm the delivery address. If you change the address to which the card will be sent, the address which you submitted in your contact details will also automatically change. We only send the cards by post within the Republic of Estonia.

  • How will the card be sent by mail?

    We can send cards abroad by DHL courier. The expenses of this service must be paid by the client. For more detailed information, call the Swedbank Consultation Centre on 6 310 310, send us a bank message in the Internet bank or send an e-mail to price list. In some instances, it is possible to authorise a third party via bank message in order for them to be able to receive the card in a Swedbank branch and then pass on the card via unregistered post.

  • How can I order the renewed card abroad?

    We can send cards abroad by DHL courier. The expenses of this service must be paid by the client. For more detailed information, call the Swedbank Consultation Centre on 6 310 310, send us a bank message in the Internet bank or send an e-mail to info@swedbank.ee. In some instances, it is possible to authorise a third party via bank message in order for them to be able to receive the card in a Swedbank branch and then pass on the card via unregistered post.

  • When will I receive the card sent by mail? What should I do if I have not received the card?

    • If you order a new bank card to your address by post and choose to have your PIN displayed in the Internet bank, you will receive your new card within 5 working days as of placing the order. PIN codes in the Internet bank are displayed when you activate your card. If you order both the card and the PIN to your address by post, the new card and the PIN will be sent to you via separate shipments within 5-10 working days as of placing the order.
    • If you already have a card but it is due to expire soon, we will send the renewed debit or credit card to your contact address two weeks before the expiry of validity of the old card at the latest. For example, if the month of expiry has been set out as 02/18 on the old card, the renewed card must arrive by post by 15.02.2018 at the latest.

    If a card ordered by post has not arrived by 2 weeks before the expiry of the old card or 10 days after ordering a new card bank message.

  • If several cards need to be activated at the same time, must each card be activated separately?

    Yes, each card must be activated separately.

  • What should I do if the card cannot be activated in the Internet bank?

    Check whether you have filled in all the required fields. Try again later. If you are still unable to activate the card, call Swedbank Consultation Centre on 6 310 310.

  • What is the security code necessary for activating the card and where can I find it?

    The security code of MasterCard (Card Validation Code, CVC) and Visa card (Card Verification Value, CVV) are the last three digits on the reverse of your card in the signature box. The security code of an American Express card is the last four digits on the front of the card.

  • What should I do with my old (expired) bank card?

    Destroy your card by cutting it into small pieces. Make sure you cut through the magnetic strip, the chip and both the card holder’s name and the card number. This will ensure that all of the information on the card becomes illegible.

You must close your bank card immediately if you lose it. You can do this in the mobile bank or by calling Client Helpline at 6 310 310

If the card is lost or stolen in abroad and you are not able to contact with us, you can block your card in the mobile bank or by calling:

  • MasterCard helpline in abroad +1 636 722 7111 or In-Country Telephone Numbers (free of charge).
  • Visa card helpline in abroad +1 410 581 3836 or Country toll-free numbers (free of charge).

When you get your bank card, you will also receive a PIN that is known only to you. Do not tell or show it to anyone.

If you suspect that your PIN has become known to someone else or if the bank has notified you of the need to change your PIN, you must change it immediately. You can do so at any Swedbank ATM.

You can call the helpline at any time

Notify the bank even if you are not sure whether you really have lost your bank card.

Set user limits

  • Set user limits on your card. You can set separate limits for purchase, cash and payment transactions. You can increase your limits temporarily if necessary.
  • For example, if you only use your card to pay for purchases, you can disallow all other transactions with the card. All card transactions (purchases, cash withdrawals, ATM payments, account balance requests, account statement requests) can be separately allowed or disallowed. This reduces your risks if the card is lost or stolen.
  • You can set and change the user rights and limits of your card in the mobile bank, Internet bank or telephone bank and at any branch of Swedbank.

PIN is your electronic signature

  • Memorise the PIN and destroy the PIN envelope that was given to you.
  • Do not write your PIN on the card or anywhere else where it can be seen by others.
  • Do not tell your PIN to anyone, not even to bank employees.
  • Change your PIN every once in a while. If the bank has notified you of the need to change your PIN, change it immediately. You can do it in Swedbank ATMs..
  • When selecting your PIN, do not re-use your old PIN.
  • Do not use identical codes for different cards for the purpose of memorising them.
  • Try to enter your PIN so that no one else can see it.

Use your bank card with care!

  • Make sure you always know where your bank card is. If you pay by card, do not let the person serving you take it to a back room on their own. If you lose your card, immediately block it in the mobile bank or call the Consultation Centreand ask them to close it.
  • When you use your card for payment, make sure that the card transaction is processed in your presence. Do now allow the person serving you to take the card into a back room. Never send your card number by fax or post or give it on the telephone when making a purchase.
  • Make sure you only use secure websites when buying goods or services on the Internet. Before entering you card number, find out if any of your friends has ordered anything from the website and whether there were any problems.
  • Be careful when using the ATMs of other banks – some ATMs return your card before dispensing the money. Make sure you have your bank card and the requested amount of cash before you leave the ATM.

(3) When paying for goods or services with a private person’s Gold revolving credit card, the transaction amount is subject to a 40-day interest-free period, after which the calculation of interest starts. (4) When paying for goods or services with the Visa Platinum Credit Card, the transaction amount is subject to an up to 40-day interest-free period (between the date of purchase and the payment date). (5) If the period between ordering Visa Platinum extra package and expiry of Visa Platinum card is less than one year, the Bank will debit a fee for an extra package in full amount.
(6) American Express cards are not issued from 1 st of July 2016.

(10) Possible with credit cards pointed in 1.1 – 1.4. The fee is charged on the amount that exceeds 5 000 € per calendar month and the cash is deposited in home bank’s terminal. The service fee is client-based on the basis of calculation is a calendar month.
(11) If upon the renewal of a credit card on the basis of an application, the credit limit of the credit card is rounded by increasing or decreasing the credit limit up to 50 € (incl.), no fee for amending the credit limit shall be charged when increasing or decreasing the credit limit.
(12) The availability of the service in a foreign country depends on the foreign bank's ATM technical possibilities and service can be used with MasterCard/Maestro cards.
(13) The price is inclusive of VAT at the rate of 20%.
(14) Added to the amount of every transaction made with the card if the card transaction is in a currency other than the euro. The conversion fee is not subject to a refund if the transaction is cancelled.

Contactless payments - an even quicker way of paying by card

Swedbank’s new contactless cards allow you to make purchases to a value of up to €10 without having to slot your card into the payment terminal or enter your PIN. You only need to tap it against the terminal. This way your everyday purchases will be even quicker and more convenient, while being just as safe as before.

  • More opportunities for the same monthly fee - The new contactless feature won’t lead to any rise in the monthly fee for bank cards.
  • Safe - To make a payment you need to place your card very close to the terminal, and two similar payments can’t be made within a short period of time in a row. Random checks mean that from time to time some small purchases will need to be confirmed using your PIN. Please do not allow the person who serves you to take the card from you.
  • Flexible - Should you wish to, you can easily switch the contactless feature off or on again in the Internet Bank or Mobile Bank. To confirm this, the next time you use your card at an ATM or payment terminal you’ll have to enter your PIN.
  • International - Contactless payments can be made in Estonia and abroad. Since the amount you can spend in a single contactless payment can vary from country to country, we recommend that you check out the terms and conditions of such payments in the country you’re going to before you leave.
  • Usage locations - Since new places that accept contactless payments are being added to the list all the time, it may be the case that some of the places on the list do not yet accept the payments. The list only includes payment terminals administered by Swedbank and there are more such points on the market today. Look out for the contactless payment symbol.
