  1. Open Swedbank app and go to “Cards” section.
  2. Choose the card you want to add to Google Pay feature and click on its picture. Then you’ll see the “Add to G Pay” button appear below.
  3. Make sure contactless payments are allowed and enabled for your card. Also, your phone number needs to be verified – you can check it under your contact details in Internet Bank.
  4. Then tap the “Add to G Pay” button below your card. If for some reason you don’t see this button, then you might need to update your app. You can check if you have „Update“ button in Google Play store. Another option is to delete and reinstall the app.
  5. For it to fully enable, set Google Pay as your default mobile contactless payments app in Swedbank app or your device settings.
  6. That’s it! Now you can just blip and go!

Important to know!

Adding a card to Google Pay does not disable Swedbank own mobile contactless payments feature. But with Google Pay set as default, you still can use Swedbank app to pay by phone manually (by tapping on “Pay with this Card”).

Mobile contactless payments will make purchasing quick and easy!

You can pay with Google Pay anywhere, where you see contactless payments symbol at the checkout:

  1. Unlock your smartphone.
  2. Tap your smartphone against the card terminal.

Card purchase limits apply.

Only one card can be set as default card. If you want to use different card for payment, you should change default card in card settings in Swedbank app.

Google Pay is available only for Android devices running the operating system version Android 5.0 or above.

Remember: In order to use Google Pay, you need to have an active Swedbank Mastercard card with its contactless payments function enabled.

Here you can see the Mastercard contactless cards that can be used for Google Pay payments:

Credit cards
Fixed payment credit card

Gold revolving credit card
  • Enable Google Pay only on your own device. Do not share your mobile device.
  • Do not use a weak password or a weak pattern for your screen lock.
  • Update the software on your mobile device regularly.
  • Have an anti-virus app installed.
  • Use official app stores only. Even if you do use official app stores, stay vigilant. Read reviews and feedback about the app you want to download before installing it.
  • If you lose your device or it is stolen, disable Swedbank services on the device via the Internet Bank or by calling 6 310 310.

Google Pay is a secure payment method, because your card data won’t be stored on device or at service providers. Instead payment confirmation is based on number related to your phone and unique code generated for payment. So, when paying your actual card information is not used at all. For that reason, you can use Google Pay stress-free and know your card information is always protected.

From 23.03.2021 Swedbank Internet Bank and Banklink is no longer available using Internet Explorer browser.

It is not possible to authorize or make payments from Swedbank on other web pages using Internet Explorer.
