    (1) The interest rate applicable to the main refinancing operations of the European Central Bank (the ECB interest rate). The ECB interest rate is published in the Ametlikud Teadaanded. The default interest rate may change twice a year (on January 1 and July 1) if the ECB interest rate has changed.

    (2) When paying for goods or services with the private person’s Revolving credit card, the bank shall not calculate interest as from making the transaction with the respective card until the last day (incl.) of the same month, after the aforementioned period, the bank shall begin calculating interest. Upon making a payment and withdrawing cash from the limit account, the bank shall begin calculating interest immediately.

    (3) When paying for goods or services with the private person’s Gold Revolving credit card, the bank shall not calculate interest as from making the transaction with the respective card until the 10th calendar day (incl.) of the following month, after the aforementioned period, the bank shall begin calculating interest. Upon making a payment and withdrawing cash from the limit account, the bank shall begin calculating interest immediately.

    (4) When paying for goods or services with the Visa Platinum Credit Card, the transaction amount is subject to an up to 40-day interest-free period (between the date of purchase and the payment date). Upon making a payment and withdrawing cash from the limit account, the bank shall begin calculating interest immediately.

    (5) If the period between ordering Visa Platinum extra package and expiry of Visa Platinum card is less than one year, the Bank will debit a fee for an extra package in full amount.

    (6) American Express cards are not issued from 1 st of July 2016.

    (7) When paying for goods or services with the American Express Blue credit card, the transaction amount is subject to an up to 40-day interest-free period (between the date of purchase and the payment date). When making transfers from credit card limit account, the calculation of interest starts at once.

    (8) When paying for goods or services with the American Express Gold credit card, the transaction amount is subject to an up to 40-day interest-free period (between the date of purchase and the payment date). When making transfers from credit card limit account, the calculation of interest starts at once.

    (9) When paying for goods or services with the American Express Platinum credit card, the transaction amount is subject to an up to 50-day interest-free period (between the date of purchase and the payment date). When making transfers from credit card limit account, the calculation of interest starts at once.

    (10) Possible with credit cards pointed in 1.1 – 1.4. The fee is charged on the amount that exceeds 5 000 € per calendar month and the cash is deposited in home bank’s terminal. The service fee is client-based on the basis of calculation is a calendar month.

    (11) If upon the renewal of a credit card on the basis of an application, the credit limit of the credit card is rounded by increasing or decreasing the credit limit up to 50 € (incl.), no fee for amending the credit limit shall be charged when increasing or decreasing the credit limit.

    (12) The availability of the service in a foreign country depends on the foreign bank's ATM technical possibilities and service can be used with MasterCard/Maestro cards.

Bank card’s PIN

  • You will receive a PIN together with the bank card, which only you will know. Do not tell or show it to anyone.
  • Change your PIN immediately if you suspect that someone has found out your PIN or your bank has notified you of the need to change. You can change the PIN in Swedbank’s ATMs.
  • Also inform the bank if you are not certain whether your debit card is actually lost. In such a case we will temporarily close the card and on finding it you can open it again. If a credit card is lost then that cannot be temporarily closed. After closing a credit card you must order a new card.

The PIN is your electronic signature

  • Memorise the PIN and destroy the PIN envelope.
  • Do not write the PIN on the card or elsewhere, where it could be visible to others.
  • Do not tell the PIN to anyone, even to a bank employee.
  • Change your PIN from time to time. Change your PIN immediately, if the bank has notified you of a need to change. You can do this in Swedbank’s ATMs.
  • Do not choose a PIN that has previously been used.
  • Do not try to use the same codes for different cards.
  • Try to enter the PIN so that nobody sees it.

Determine use limits for the card

  • Determine use limits for your card. You can determine a separate limit for purchase, cash and payment transactions. If necessary you can temporarily increase the limits.
  • If you use your card for example just for making purchases, you can prohibit other operations. You can separately permit or prohibit all card operations (purchase, cash withdrawal, bank terminal transfers, asking for the balance, asking for a bank statement). That way you will reduce the risk in case of the loss or theft of the card.
  • You can determine and change the debit card use rights and limits in the business client internet bank, the credit card use rights and limits in Swedbank’s branches.

Use the bank card attentively

  • Always know where your bank card is. If you pay by card, be present at the card transaction and do not allow the attendant to leave your sight with the card. Never send your card number by fax or post or say it over the phone to make a purchase. If the card is lost, call the bank’s consultation centre’s number at 6 310 310 immediately to close the card.
  • When ordering goods or services online only use trustworthy websites. Before entering your card number look into whether any of your acquaintances have ordered anything from that website and what their experiences are.
  • Be attentive when using the ATMs of other banks. Some ATMs first issue the card and only thereafter the cash. Before leaving the ATM ensure that you have the bank card and the requested cash.
  • How can I exchange my Visa Business Electron debit card for a Business Debit Card?

    You can exchange the existing Visa Business Electron debit card before the expiry date simply by ordering a new Business Debit Card in the Internet bank and notifying us of the wish to close the old card. Order card

    The current debit card can also be brought into the nearest Swedbank branch, where a new debit card contract will be concluded with you and a new bank card ordered. The card can also be ordered by calling the business client consultation centre on the telephone number 613 2222 or by sending a bank message from the Internet bank.

    We will automatically replace all expiring Visa Business Electron debit cards with a MasterCard Business Debit debit card. The existing debit card contract will continue to be valid and all other terms and conditions of using debit cards (incl. card monthly fee, use limits and terms and conditions of using debit cards) will remain the same.

  • Who can order a debit card in the company’s name?

    A debit card can be ordered by a user having the right to sign contracts in the company’s name or the legal representative of the company having the sole right of representation according to the commercial register. More about user rights

    a debit card contract can be concluded at the bank’s branch by a member of the company’s board or another representative of the company on the basis of a notarised authorisation of a member of the board. A debit card can also be ordered by calling the phone number of the business client consultation centre at 613 2222 or by sending a bank message from the Internet bank.

  • In whose name can a company’s bank card be ordered?

    The number of a company’s debit or credit cards is not limited and they can be ordered for all employees of the company if so wished. The use limits and rights of the cards can be different for employees.

  • How will I get the card that is ordered?

    You can choose the suitable way of receipt when ordering the card. We will send a debit card ordered by post to the company’s contact address or you can pick it up from a suitable Swedbank branch. At our branch the card is issued to a member of the company’s board or an employee of the company on the basis of a notarised authorisation of the company’s board. If the member of the board has previously signed the contract at the bank, the person in whose name the card has been ordered will also receive the card.

  • How long does it take to receive the bank card that is ordered?

    The precise time of receiving the card will become evident when preparing the card, but it is not longer than 10 working days.

  • How much does it cost to withdraw cash from an ATM?

    The fee for withdrawal depends on the place of withdrawal.

  • What happens if there is insufficient money in the account on the payment date to return the used credit card limit?

    If there are insufficient funds in the servicing settlement account on the payment date, then the used credit limit is not automatically deducted and interest calculation commences. If a mandatory standing order if determined in the contract and there are insufficient funds for it and/or the interest payments, then on the 36th debt date the bank blocks the credit card as well as the credit card account. To release the block please turn to our branch, presuming that the arrears and default interests have been paid in full.

  • What to do when the card is lost or stolen?

    In case of the loss or theft of a bank card immediately call the consultation centre open 24/7 on the telephone number 6 310 310 and ask for your card to be closed.

    If it happens that you have lost the credit card abroad then immediately turn to one of the following numbers that are free of charge and operate 24/7 to close the card:

    • Visa help centre +1 410 581 9994;
    • MasterCard help centre +1 31 4542 7111;
    • the banks’ Card centres (+372) 671 1444;
    • Swedbank’s customer support (+372) 631 0310.

    Your card will be closed immediately when you notify the help centre of it by calling. Swedbank will be notified of the loss and the help centre will receive the bank’s confirmation for issuing cash or a replacement card within 2 hours. Your card’s (Visa or MasterCard) customer support centre will organise all the formalities, which are related to replacing the card.

  • How can I dispute card transactions?

    You can dispute a card transaction at the bank 24/7 on the telephone number of the consultation centre at 6 310 310 or in the nearest bank branch.

    Card transactions can be disputed if:

    • you discover that purchases have been made with your bank card, which you have not performed and the name of the merchant or service provider is unfamiliar to you. NB! Close the card immediately via the bank and also report the incident to the police.
    • You have not reached an agreement with the merchant in case of an Internet purchase or the problem is unresolved (e.g. the goods ordered have not arrived or are of poor quality, money has not been received for returned goods, your inquiry has not been responded to etc.). To dispute a transaction submit all of the additional information related to the transaction to the bank (correspondence, number received when cancelling the hotel booking etc.).
    • an ATM has not issued cash but the sum has still been debited from the account.
    • the cash inserted into an ATM was not added to the account or less than the amount entered was added.
    • the transaction amount has been debited twice from the account for the same purchase.
    • a card payment at a shop failed, but the transaction amount is still reserved on the account or debited from the account.
    • money has been debited from the account for using the accommodation service of a hotel but you have not used the service. First check whether you recognise the name of the hotel and if you may have dealt with this service provider before. If you have made a booking at a hotel but cancelled it later then ascertain whether you have cancelled it according to the requirements.

    Card transactions cannot be disputed if

    • a car rental company has debited money from your account for example for damage caused to the car, amount failed to be paid for consumption or for a traffic penalty;
    • you have consumed a service, which you actually no longer wanted to consumer but you did not inform the service provider of it in advance (e.g. when using a gaming or antivirus programme use licence);
    • a hotel booking was not appropriately cancelled or outstanding hotel expenses for the consumption of services (e.g. minibar bill) have been deducted from the account.
  • Which card can I use to receive PayPal payments?

    Credit cards issued by the Visa card organisation are suitable for receiving PayPal payments.

  • What to do with an old or invalid bank card?

    Destroy the card. Cut the card’s magnetic strip, chip, name of the card owner and holder and the card number into pieces so that the entire information on the card is illegible.

    • Ability to use the money on the credit card account: you can only use the money in the account via the credit card.
    • The card is replaced by a business credit card.

    • The card is not issued from 18.04.2016.
    • Credit limit validity: the credit limit is valid for one month and it is interest free. It is not possible to make additional deposits onto the card, all of the used amount is debited from the account servicing the card on the 10th day of the following month. A new credit limit is opened for the card on the first day of each calendar month.
    • Cash limit is 50% of the credit limit.
    • Changing the payment date is not possible.
    • The card is replaced with a business credit card.

    • The card is not issued from 18.04.2016.
    • Credit limit validity: the credit limit is valid for one month and it is interest free. It is not possible to make additional deposits onto the card.     • Cash limit is 50% of the credit limit.
    • Changing the payment date is not possible.
